The client requested a substantial addition to their existing home to create a recreational and entertainment space that includes a game room with an interior/exterior bar, an indoor golf simulator, a food prep area with two large islands, and a natatorium featuring skylights, a sunshelf, and a slide. The pool area also includes a powder room, sauna, and a changing room with washer/dryer. A custom breezeway connects the main house to the new structure, providing access from both the front and rear. The addition was designed to match the original home seamlessly, using complementary roofing and siding materials, natural stone accents, and custom millwork to maintain architectural continuity. The project required significant infrastructure planning, including a sophisticated HVAC system to manage indoor pool humidity, extensive drainage and utility planning for the outdoor amenities, and structural considerations for the natatorium and patio areas. Interior features include custom cabinetry, hidden doors, bookmatched Blue Roma Quartzite, Dekton countertops, and an intricate lattice ceiling in the kitchen. A wall of modern glass garage doors in the game room opens fully to connect indoor and outdoor living spaces. These overhead doors allow for natural light year-round while creating a fluid transition between the home’s interior and exterior during warmer months. The natatorium is separated by a full-height glass wall that collapses to open the space completely, and the covered outdoor kitchen—equipped with a natural gas pizza oven, grill, and venting system—supports year-round use.
